Power windows can only be installed on 2 and 4-door sedans and station wagons that have dual mirrors and pivioting vent windows.
Vent windows and dual mirrors are not required for installation on the 2-door coupe model.
You will need 2 or 4 window regulators that came from a car equipped with power windows.
They must match in length to what you had originaly.
2 or 4 motors that came with the regulators. these are side specific left and right.
1 master switch
1 or 3 single switches.
If doing a 4-door, it will help if all this stuff comes from the same car as each switch has different colored wiring. It will be easier to keep it all straight later.
1 silver circuit breaker that should be attached to the solenoid.
1 window safety relay. Location for this varies, could be under steering wheel, or inside left or right kick panel. Just follow the wires!
2 or 4 bellows to run the wire thru to the doors.
And the wiring harness with connectors for the motors.
I made my own for my 4-door as taking apart the whole interior would of taken a lot of time.
The 2 door was easy to get the whole harness out. But you can make that as well.
How to make your own will be explained later.
See the picture for all you need for a 2-door.
Anything else, just ask.
OUT WITH THE OLD, AND DRILL HOLES
Disconnect battery
Crank window to the up position
Remove door handle, latch, window crank, and mirror (if carpeted full door panel).
Remove door panel with removal tool.
Punch out the 4 centers of the rivets that hold on the window regulator.
I used a spring loaded punch.
Use 1/2" drill to drill off the 4 rivet heads.
DO NOT LET THE GLASS DROP -- REPEAT THIS STEP AS NEEDED!!!!
Remove window regulator from window glass track and remove from door.
Drill 3 1/2" holes where you see the 3 dimples. These are for access to the motor
You might not need to drill all of them. (dr A)
Drill 1-1/2" hole thru the hinge end of the door where the dimple is.
Do this from inside the door body. This is for the wiring.
Remove kick panels. Remove door switch. (fig 1)
Move all wires in door panel out of the way.
Drill 1-1/2" hole straight thru, as high as the one you made in the door. (fig 2)
